Originally from Malaysia and raised in Perth, Western Australia, I’ve always been curious about how things work—whether that’s engineering, business, property or simply understanding why people make the decisions they do.
That curiosity has taken me down some unexpected paths over the years.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), lived and worked in Asia, taught English, ran a small food retail business before finding my calling in property.
Looking back, I can see that each chapter prepared me for the next.
Engineering taught me how to solve problems logically.
Teaching taught me patience and communication.
Running a business taught me that great service always begins with understanding people.
Property brought those lessons together.
Since buying my first home in 2003 and becoming a property investor shortly afterwards, I’ve spent more than two decades learning what separates a good property decision from a great one. I became a selling agent in 2005 before moving into buyer advocacy in 2008—a role that feels like a natural fit because it brings together everything I’d learned along the way: analysis, strategy, communication and independent advice.
Today I’m fortunate to help people make one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives with greater clarity and confidence.
If there’s one idea that has stayed with me over the years, it’s that better decisions come from better thinking. Whether I’m analysing a property, planning a family holiday or reflecting on life’s experiences, I try to look beyond the obvious, question assumptions and take the long-term view.
Over the years, I’ve realised that many of the lessons I’ve learned extend well beyond property. They touch on decision-making, family, travel, money and perspective. This website is where I collect those observations—not because I have all the answers, but because I’ve found that asking better questions often leads to better decisions.
Away from work, I’m happiest spending time with my wife Lisa and our two boys, Harrison and Jasper. Becoming a father has changed the way I think about success, wealth and what really matters. Many of the observations I share on this website are shaped as much by family life as they are by property.
I also enjoy travelling, discovering different cultures, exploring Perth’s established neighbourhoods, and continually learning—whether that’s about property, investing, technology or life in general.
This website isn’t just about property.
It’s a place to share the observations, lessons and experiences that have shaped the way I think.
Whether you’ve come here for property insights, travel stories or reflections on life, I hope you leave with a slightly different way of looking at the world.
